We've got a really newsy update for November, so buckle up and settle in!
Our first glimpse of Picky Eaters: Ultimate Collection is here!
For those of you who aren't familiar with crowdfunding, PPCs, or pre-production copies, are a way for creators to see their board game. So much work until now has gone into digitally creating Picky Eaters: Ultimate Collection, from the art to the text to the graphic design. Now we get to see and feel Picky Eaters: Ultimate Collection — and most important, share it with you!
Last week, we got this cardboard box...
... and promptly opened it up!
The first thing we unboxed was the Lazy Susan, which came in this lovely box featuring our artist Alex Hoskins's various recipes from the game.
We excitedly unpacked it and lo and behold, the Lazy Susan! We were thrilled to be offering the Lazy Susan for Picky Eaters: Ultimate Collection and it was awesome to see it in real life.
Next, we unpacked the Picky Eaters: Ultimate Collection Collector's Box, designed to hold all the cards, playmats, and extras from any Picky Eaters game or expansion. This box is also a piece of art, with Alex Hoskins's delicious art on every side of the box.
We unpacked the Collector's Box to find all three expansions: More Picky Eaters, Special Sauce, and Double Recipes.
After that were the Kickstarter exclusives, heading to every Kickstarter backer for free and available on our pre-order store as well. The cards are going to add that extra kick of strategy to the game, the standee will make it that much more fun for the first player to make their moves, and the stickers are so cute!
And for those of you who got the Collector's Box, a bonus Special Sauce card (Kitchen Island) will be tucked into your Collector's Box as well, snazzing up any game using Special Sauce cards.
Finally, the Chicago Hot Dog Expansion! This is coming to those of you paid $1 on our pre-launch page for Picky Eaters: Ultimate Collection or ordered it separately as an add-on, and it made us immediately crave a salty, spicy, steaming Chicago hot dog on the spot.
The PPC is a big step towards manufacturing Picky Eaters: Ultimate Collection and shipping them towards you. We're about to launch our next crowdfunding campaign, Monarch (see below!) this week but once that's launched, we're going to be working with Panda to make remaining edits to the PPCs and get ready to manufacture. We'll have news of when we manufacture soon, and once that's done, games will get on boats and start their journeys toward you!

The folks at NPR have selected Picky Eaters as one of their best games for 2024! We're thrilled and honored to have made the cut. Here's what NPR had to say about Picky Eaters:
You’re having a dinner party — but some of your guests aren’t cooperative. They can’t eat something, or they don’t like something — and you have to make things work! In games lasting roughly a half hour to an hour, you’ll go to the grocery store, make a recipe and stir in special ingredients. Final edits for Picky Eaters: Ultimate Collection took a bit longer than expected, but we finally have the game in tip-top shape and ready to get manufactured!
What does that mean for you? Well, now that final edits are approved, Panda Games will create a sample copy of every element in the game and send us a copy, called a pre-production copy (PPC) to make absolutely sure the game is up to our picky tastes! (We'll be sure to give you a peek into how that looks when it comes to us!)
Once we approve, manufacturing will begin! We'll be able to give a more updated timeline on that once the PPC is approved, so hold on tight!

We've had an eventful summer over here at Le Fou Games. We're working through some final edits for Picky Eaters: Ultimate Collection. It's taking us a bit of time, as we want to ensure that all of you get the most perfect Picky Eaters experience when you receive your game, but we are still on schedule to hopefully start mass production next month.

We've loved creating the Picky Eaters universe for all of you, but we've also been working on other games behind the scenes. We're now ready (and proud!) to announce that we are launching our next game, Monarch, this fall!
Monarch is a two-player game where each player's goal is to capture their opponent's Monarch piece. Players use their caterpillars to crawl across the board, upgrade them into butterflies, and use their wits to corner the Monarch. Every movement is made secretly and revealed simultaneously, creating a game that's full of bluffing and blustering!
Monarch features all the things you love about Le Fou Games products: fast and easy gameplay with layers of strategy along with art by Alex Hoskins, back with her signature whimsical style for Monarch.

We hope your summer has been relaxing and fun! Over here at Le Fou Games, we've been enjoying long walks to our farmer's market and making lots of snacks.
We've also been reflecting... one year ago today, on July 11, 2023, we launched Picky Eaters on Kickstarter. We just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for supporting us through this journey! We couldn't have done it without you.
We've been steadily working to get our art verified so that we can start the manufacturing process. And we're excited to say that we're on track to start mass production next month!
